Charles Burkholder

Mr. Burkholder was born in 1872 in Sterling, Ill. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin. He was associated with Dr. Charles Steinmetz, an eminent scientist in the testing laboratories of the General Electric Co. at Schenectady, N.Y. In 1906, he joined the Duke Power Company, working on its hydroelectric projects. He served as an honorary pallbearer at James B. Duke’s funeral in 1925. Mr. Burkholder was Vice President, Chief Engineer and Board Member of the Duke Power Company. He was named an original Trustee of The Duke Endowment in 1924 and served until his death in 1948.
