Ms. Jones retired from the Board of Trustees in 2017 after three decades of service. She is a great-granddaughter of Benjamin N. Duke, brother to James B. Duke, and eldest daughter of Mary D.B.T. Semans, a longtime leader of the Endowment. Ms. Jones is a leader with a servant’s heart, volunteering on numerous boards and committees, including Emory and Henry College, Duke University Women’s Studies Council, Board of Virginians for the Arts, Southeastern Network for Economic Development, the Mary Duke Biddle Foundation, the Josiah Charles Trent Foundation, the Concert Artists Guild of New York City and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. The Durham native earned her A.B. Degree from Duke University in 1963 and was named the outstanding alumni of Virginia Academy in 1991.
