Robert McCormack

A Texas native, Mr. McCormack attended Columbia Law School and practiced law in New York City for most of his career. He worked at several firms, including Perkins, Daniels & McCormack, which was founded by Judge William R. Perkins, author of the Indenture of Trust that established The Duke Endowment. A devoted Methodist, he served as General Counsel to the World Division of the Board of Global Ministries, United Methodist Church. He joined The Duke Endowment’s board in 1965 and chaired the Rural Church Committee for 15 years. He served as chair of the full board in 1982. The Robert McCormack Scholarship at Duke Divinity School provides support for students from rural United Methodist parishes.
