Thomas F. Hill

Mr. Hill graduated from Wofford College in 1909 and began his career that same year with the Anderson Traction Company, which was acquired by the Southern Power Company, now Duke Energy. He was responsible for much of the growth of the Duke Power system over half a century. When he retired in 1959, he served as a Director and a Vice President. Mr. Hill was elected to The Duke Endowment board in 1955 and served as a faithful Trustee until his death in 1970. He was an effective member of the Hospital and Child Care Committee and the Rural Church Committee. He was a quiet mannered gentleman, dedicated to the long-term goals of The Duke Endowment.
